Blended dark purples and blues, with magentas, greens, golds and yellows, in diagonal, tipsy, wavy, always-changing stripes. The shibori artists have taken inspiration from their nearby deserts, where the wind creates wavy patterns in the sand. The hand-dyed shibori stripes vary constantly in color, spacing, waviness, sharpness, thickness, etc. Finely woven, thin and light, less than 3 ounces per 42" wide yard. It's only slightly drapey, and a little see-through, no sheen, no slubs. Sometimes they create diamonds. In some lights the background is almost black. In India this cotton/silk is often made into sarees, shawls, and scarves.  It would also be wonderful for windows and beds, linings, all types of apparel and accessories.
